Navigation radio returned from the Electronic Service Center: no navigation and CD ERROR message

The article covers vehicles with the Navigation Radio (RPOs UM8, U3U or UA4) including Yukon (2005-06 for Full Size Utility Trucks) (bulletin 07-08-44-014).

After a radio is returned from the Electronic Service Center, some owners may comment of no radio navigation operation and a CD ERROR message on the radio.

What to do

  1. Check a navigation radio that is returned from the Electronic Service Center before customer delivery.
  2. When following bulletin 07-08-44-014, the radio displays an Update in Progress screen, which indicates that a successful update is being loaded; after the update the radio should operate as intended.
  3. Bulletin 07-08-44-014 provides a service procedure to resolve these conditions.
