Bulletin 02-05-23-004, Driver's Information Center (DIC) "Reduced Brake Power" message and reduced vacuum boost, lists 2002-03 Cadillac Escalade 2WD, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Yukon, XL with the power vacuum boost brake system (RPOs JC3 and JC4).

The Driver's Information Center (DIC) shows a “Reduced Brake Power” message and vacuum boost is reduced.

What to do

  1. The correction is to inspect or replace the intake manifold and recalibrate the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
