      This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Diagnostic Trouble Code B101D stored in Telematics Communication Interface Control Module. Technician will use Global Diagnostic System 2 to review the Firmware Over-the-Air version. If the Firmware Over-the-Air version on the scan tool equals 6708 the technician will need to contact General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance. If the Firmware Over-the-Air version on the scan tool is lower than 6708 Dealer can order the part thought the Instrument Sales and Service website process.

    Remedy
    This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Diagnostic Trouble Code B101D stored in Telematics Communication Interface Control Module.     Vehicle Communication Interface Module LED and DTC B2455 Issue

    1. 1Fault

      • A red LED and DTC B2455 set current in the VCIM may be noticed after performing Canada upgrade bulletin 15-08-44-001.
      • When placing calls or connecting to OnStar, the person on the other end can hear the caller clearly.

      Possible causes

      • A short between the audio drain wire and the microphone drain wire has been found to cause this concern.

      • Pull back the tape at X2 of the VCIM far enough to see where the bare wires are covered.

      1. Tape the bare wires individually to prevent them from shorting, then tape the harness back up.

    Remedy
    This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that has a red LED and DTC B2455 setting current in the Vehicle Communication Interface Module after performing Canada upgrade. Technician will need to gain access to the Vehicle Communication Interface Module. After gaining access to the Vehicle Communication Interface Module pull the tape back on the X2 connector then tape the bare wires individually to prevent them from shorting.
