The vehicle (where a record says)

A record is under an engine, a drive or a series only where it says so: the characters of the vehicle identification number filed with a complaint, its text, or what its document says it applies to. A record that does not say is kept as "not stated". The filed numbers and the documents do not tell 4WD from AWD.

Candidate cause (the documents say what to do)

Seat Belt Buckle: failed

1 of the records matching this search name this component as the cause.

What to do

  1. Shine a light on the latch plate insertion area of the buckle and look for debris or foreign objects.
  2. If debris is seen, try to vacuum it out, then latch and unlatch the belt; if it works properly, do not replace the buckle assembly.
  3. If not corrected, inspect the buckle for sticky residue; if found, the buckle assembly must be replaced at the customer's expense.
